I recently treated myself to a DMK Enzyme Therapy facial, and let me warn you, it’s not your typical spa-day facial. This treatment works deep within the skin, not just on the surface, and the results left me glowing, refreshed, and feeling like I had the cleanest skin of my life.
Let me walk you through what the DMK enzyme facial is meant to do, the step-by-step process, how to prepare, what to do after, and of course…how much it costs.
What Is DMK Enzyme Therapy Meant to Do?
Enzymes are natural, living substances that help regulate our body’s functions. When combined with certain minerals, they create a natural antioxidant system that protects the skin by fighting off harmful free radicals.
In DMK treatments, these enzymes are carefully formulated to gently clear away dead skin cells, toxins, and waste through a process called reverse osmosis. Instead of working against the skin, the therapy works with your skin, helping to strengthen its structure and create the ideal environment for your cells to stay healthy and thrive. Unlike traditional facials that focus on pampering, the DMK Enzyme Therapy treatment is all about skin revision (changing the way the skin functions). In short:
- It helps detoxify the skin.
- Boosts blood flow and oxygenation.
- Strengthens the skin’s natural functions.
- Leaves the skin feeling firm, tight, and ultra-clean.
- enzymes stimulate fibroblasts to help with collagen production over time
It’s often recommended for concerns like acne, pigmentation, dullness, and skin laxity. But even if you don’t have major skin issues, it’s still a great reset for your complexion.
Step-by-Step Process of the DMK Enzyme Facial
Here’s exactly what I experienced during my DMK Enzyme Therapy treatment:
- Skin Assessment & Cleansing – The provider analyzed my skin and gave me a thorough cleanse with some delicious smelling cleansers.
- Extractions (not always done during DMK treatments) – my provider extracted and de-congested my skin
- Toning/Prepping – Toner was applied after extractions to prep my skin for the enzyme mask. It also helps with restoring skin’s ph, hydrates and calms the skin before treatment.
- Application of the Enzyme Mask – The signature DMK mask is applied! Instantly it felt so tight it actually felt like it was tugging at my skin. I’m not really claustrophobic but I wasn’t expecting how uncomfortable I would be! It’s not painful just… different. Ideally the mask would stay on for 45 minutes, but in my session it was only 25 minutes due to the provider’s time constraints, which meant I experienced more of the temporary glow than the deeper plasmatic results.
- The “Plasmatic Effect” – As the mask tightens, around the 40-45 minute range you can feel pulsating and see a roadmap of veins after removal. This shows your blood and lymphs are working hard to oxygenate the skin. My second go around I will see if there’s any show of this on darker skin!
- Mask Removal & Finishing Products – The mask was removed with the cleanser which softens the hardened enzyme. Once I broke free, my skin was treated with serums and moisturizers, adding to the glow.
The whole treatment takes about 90 minutes.
Pre-Treatment: What to Do Before
- Avoid strong exfoliants, retinol, or acids for at least 3–5 days as you’ll already be getting a deep exfoliation with the enzyme treatment.
- Skip tanning beds, spray tans, or heavy sun exposure.
- Arrive with a clean face (no makeup).
Aftercare: What to Do Post-Treatment
- Avoid touching your skin too much, it’s freshly activated.
- Hold off on makeup for the rest of the day if possible.
- Stay away from strong active products for a few days.
- Hydrate well.
- It is an exfoliant so I would limit excess sun exposure a few days after treatment
How Much Does DMK Enzyme Therapy Cost?
The price point varies depending on the spa or clinic (ranges around $150-$350 in LA) but my DMK treatment was $325 in Beverly Hills.
My Honest Experience & Final Thoughts
I truly enjoyed the glow from this treatment. However, because the enzymes weren’t left on for the full duration, I’m looking forward to my next treatment at another clinic where the collagen and tightening can really come into effect (Stay tuned!). While the mask definitely feels tight and intense when on, the end result seem to be worth it, especially if done before an event! My skin did feel completely clean and radiant!
DMK Enzyme Therapy can technically be done weekly, but since it’s on the pricier side, I’m aiming to go monthly as part of my skin maintenance routine.
If you’re looking for a results-driven facial that you can do before an event this is the treatment to go with! It goes beyond relaxation and actually changes your skin function, I highly recommend trying the DMK Enzyme Therapy.
